That’s a wrap on the 4th Annual Supplier Showcase and it’s safe to say this event has gotten better every year! Once again, PHCP hosted the annual networking event at Landry’s Post Oak Hotel, but this year included a new educational element – and a few surprise guests!

The two-day event kicked off on Wednesday, September 9th with industry members flying into Houston from all over. Everyone was so excited to attend the first event like this to take place in months! The Patrick Henry Team took the extra steps necessary to ensure guests’ safety and well-being during their visit, which included strongly recommending all participants wear their masks at all times, increased cleaning of high-touch areas and items, limiting the number of participants and more.

Meeting & Event Planner, Robin Doherty, noted:

For us, it made sense to continue with the event this year since it’s always been about quality, not quantity. [The added challenge] was a lot more work went into making sure it was a safe event for everyone who attended.”

DAY 1: Set Up & Welcome Reception

After the vendors finished setting up their booths in the Post Oak’s Grand Ballroom, everyone headed over to the first event on the agenda: the Welcome Reception at the rustic, yet elegant Brenner’s on the Bayou – another great Landry’s property in Houston. Thankfully, the rain subsided long enough for our guests and team members to socialize out on the patio overlooking Buffalo Bayou. Hors d’oeuvres were passed, cold beverages sipped, and lots of socially distanced fun was enjoyed by all!

DAY 2: Panel Discussion & Grand Tasting

Day 2 began with “The Future of Our Industry” discussion, which was led by a panel of some of the industry’s best, where attendees heard first-hand what they are doing to bounce back during an unprecedented year, full of unexpected changes – and how they are strategizing for the future. It was moderated by our very own Michelle Fossett, CMO, and there was some great insight shared by the panelists, which included:

Devin Burns, Vice President of Rooms and F&B at Omni Hotels & Resorts

Jamie Carawan, Vice President of Brand Menu and Culinary at Buffalo Wild Wings

James Kramer, Vice President of Beverage Operations at Landry’s Inc

Bruce Skala, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Hooters of America

Like previous years, the remainder of the day consisted of a Grand Tasting, which was broken up into two-parts, and separated by a networking lunch. This year, we had more vendor participation than ever! Over 75 different companies set up booths to showcase their focus brands and allow attendees to sample and learn more about their products – while making new connections and building lasting relationships! PHCP’s very own Mixology Team even joined in the fun with a booth dedicated to their new NECTAR drink recipe database!

Not only did the Supplier Showcase have a historic number of vendors participate this year, it also had a number of local Restaurateurs attend, as well as the most national account attendance ever with buyers from Buffalo Wild Wings, Hooters, TGI Friday's, Benchmark Hospitality, Outback Steakhouse, Omni Resorts & Hotels and more!
